Meng Wang (王萌)

Introduction

WANG Meng has been deeply engaged in the field of video compression and artificial intelligence for more than ten years. Her research interests span a wide range of advanced technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence-based coding, generative coding, next-generation video coding standards, and video coding optimizations. She has authored and co-authored more than 60 international journal and conference papers (including 31 IEEE Transaction papers). She has been actively involved in the development of coding standards, including VVC, AVS3, and JPEG-AI (a new-generation neural-network based image coding standard), where 27 of her technical proposals are adopted including significant modifications on core coding modules. These standards are widely used in various industries, from multimedia and entertainment to communication and surveillance. She is serving as an associate editor of IEEE T-CSVT. She has successfully secured the Hong Kong RGC Early Career Scheme (ECS) grant in her first eligible year. The total citations reach over 1000 according to Google Scholar.
